What families ask us
We've gathered the most common questions. If you have another, write to us — we'll be glad to help.
What is a mare de dia?
A mare de dia (home childminder) welcomes a very small group of children in a warm, family setting. It's a gentle, close alternative to the first cycle of nursery, centred on attachment, respect for each child's pace, and daily contact with nature.
Frequently asked questions
What ages do you take?
We accompany children from 10 months to 4 years old, the stage when attachment and calm matter most.
How many children are in the group?
We keep a maximum ratio of 1 adult to 5 children. We're a small, stable team, so each child has familiar carers who don't change.
What are your hours and calendar?
You'll find up-to-date hours, calendar and conditions on the practical information page.
How much does it cost?
Fees and what the place includes are detailed on the practical information page. Write to us and we'll walk you through it calmly, with no obligation.
What does a typical day include?
Free play and movement, a daily outing into nature, home-cooked seasonal meals, rest time, and moments of live songs and stories.
What is the settling-in period like?
Settling in happens respectfully and at each child's pace, with the family alongside, so the step into our house is safe and calm.
What happens if a child gets ill?
For the health of the whole group, we ask that children with a fever or contagious illness stay home until they recover. We always keep you informed transparently.
What languages do you use?
Day-to-day life is in Catalan, in an environment rich in songs, stories and everyday language.
Where are you?
We're in Bellaterra (Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona), in a house with a garden and the woods next door, where we head out every day.
How can I get to know you?
The best way is to come and see the house. Write to us and we'll arrange a calm visit, with no obligation.
Still have a question?
Write to us and we'll gladly answer it. You can also come and get to know the house in person, with no obligation.
